Week 10
This week was another busy week.
This past Tuesday was the Technology Committee meeting. It's always nice sitting in on those meetings because the committee members always stop and ask me and Stephanie what we think so they can have an actual student's opinion of any tech-related things they are working on before they release it.
Wednesday, I worked an Honors event where I talked about the leadership opportunities offered at UCBA and my position as a Student Ambassador. Then right after that event, I worked an awesome event that Daniel (one of the ambassadors) planned to have a candid conversation about our struggles with mental health and different coping methods and resources available at UCBA.
Thursday was a bit more slow. All I had that day was meeting with my mentee. It was really nice because I blocked out about half an hour for the meeting but we ended up going over! My mentee was interested in learning how to network given the current cirumstances so I gave him some tips about that, including checking CampusLINK for events because one of the best ways to network is just by meeting people and talking to them. He also had some questions about financial aid and looking for resources for a research paper, so I provided him with contact info for Onestop and the library. A lot of the resources that I provided him with were things that I learned about while training to be a SOL so it was cool to see that the things that I learned over the summer came in handy now!
