This week has been a busy week filled with events and meetings!
Last Tuesday, I met with my first mentee and I really enjoyed talking to her. She seems really sweet and I'm looking forward to getting to know her more! Later that day I also met with Dean Lightner to go over the agenda for the advisory board meeting on Friday.
Thursday and Friday were particularly busy, though.
Thursday afternoon I had the chance to assist one of UCBA's success coaches in one of their series of workshops. I talked about my position here at UCBA and then I walked the students through CampusLINK and Thursday Announcements. It was really nice to be able to interact with the students at this event, it was very reminiscent of my SOL days!
Week 9
Then Thursday evening I worked a transfer/transition student alumni panel. It was really nice hearing the different stories of the alumni who transitioned from Blue Ash to Clifton because I just recently transitioned from Blue Ash to Clifton this semester. I also enjoyed hearing everyone's stories of what they're doing now that they are all graduated because graduation is not too far away for me. I actually met someone in this event whose career journey is similar to mine, so I'm planning on getting in contact with her so I can hear more about it.
Finally, Friday was the Dean's Advisory Board meeting. This board consisted of heads of departments at UCBA, HR managers from local companies, etc. In the meeting, we talked about updates on programs and plans for the campus.
Then Friday evening I hosted a WebEx movie night for our peer mentor program. We watched Halloweentown on Disney+ and even though only a handful of students were able to come, everyone had a good time!
